Personas and Characters

Characters and Personas shape how the Assistant speaks and writes. They apply to spoken replies and structured Assistant output.

  • A Character is the primary identity and voice. One Character is active at a time. Super Voice Mode includes built-ins and supports custom Character files.
  • A Persona adds a style or attitude on top of the active Character. You can combine compatible Personas.
  • An Augment changes how the Assistant approaches a task, such as being concise or reviewing for security.

Open Dashboard → Characters or Dashboard → Personas to change the active voice stack. The change applies to the next Assistant reply.

A useful Character needs three aligned choices:

  1. Point of view. Define what the Character values and how it approaches a question.
  2. Speaking style. Set a few concrete rules for sentence length, vocabulary, openings, and how directly it answers.
  3. Voice. Choose a Pocket voice that reinforces the intended style.

Keep the system prompt focused. Include one identity sentence, two or three behaviors to follow, two or three behaviors to avoid, and one short fictional example exchange. Long biographies usually weaken consistency.

Characters, Personas, and Augments share a five-slot budget. A Character uses two slots by default; each Persona or Augment uses one. The picker prevents an overloaded combination.

Start with one Character and one or two compatible layers. Add more only when each has a distinct job.

Characters and Personas are available during the trial and through Free’s weekly premium workflows. Pro Lifetime makes their use unlimited.

  • Pair tone and voice deliberately; the wrong voice can flatten a strong prompt.
  • Use a Persona for style and an Augment for task shape.
  • Prefer one or two strong layers over five competing instructions.
  • Switch between conversations or tasks instead of changing identity in the middle of a reply.
  • Use fictional example dialogue in Character files you plan to share.
